Job Title: Business Analyst - Strategy & Planning Department

How did you come to choose your present career?

I have been with the Group since I was 16.  I went to an open day when the Bank was recruiting staff for a new call centre and have since held a number of roles, mainly within the Retail Division.  

Describe your day to day role and what it involves?

I provide analytical support delivering projects for the bank.  Projects vary from changing current processes in order to improve service for both customers and staff to implementing changes required by the industry. 

The role is very varied.  Some days I am analysing data and other days I am making presentations to staff or senior managers.  I have also travelled throughout our different offshore jurisdictions.   

What do you like most about your current role?

The variety and positive feedback I receive when I make a difference. When I introduce improvements that benefit customers or save time for our staff, I get a real sense of achievement.

What do you like most about working for RBS International?

RBS International provides the security of a major employer and because of its size there are many different areas of the organisation available for career progression.

What will be the next step in your career?

I enjoy project management and would see myself becoming a Project Manager when I have gained enough experience and learned the necessary skills.

What training and support for development have you received or is available to you as an individual?

I have been given a great deal of opportunity to develop my career. I have attended several external courses both of a technical nature and also to develop soft-skills.  Colleagues have also given me their time on a one-to-one basis and I have had access to a wealth of online training materials provided by the Group.
